Cognition Devin Ambassador

Devin

Cognition's autonomous AI coding agent, and the agent we know best. Aloomii runs Devin adoption, hardened sandboxing and team enablement for enterprise engineering teams.

What Devin is, and how we deploy it.

The agent

Devin is an autonomous software engineering agent from Cognition. Given a ticket or a brief, it plans, clones the repo, edits code, runs the build and tests, and opens a pull request for human review.

  • Ticket-to-PR workflow: works from Jira, Linear or GitHub issues to a reviewed pull request.
  • Full dev environment: shell, browser and editor in an isolated runtime, so it can run tests and reproduce bugs, not just suggest code.
  • Repository rules and knowledge: system prompts and playbooks tuned to your architecture, API contracts and linting standards.
  • Execution inside your perimeter: agent planning stays in the vendor cloud; all repo cloning, shell commands and builds run on your infrastructure via outbound-only connections. Nothing inbound, nothing egressing your code.

How Aloomii works with Devin

Our deepest agent implementation expertise is Devin (Yohann Calpu is a Cognition Devin Ambassador). We turn seats into deployed, tested pull requests. See the full Devin adoption and enablement program.

  • Hardened agent sandboxing and private VPC deployment: isolated worker nodes, least-privilege credential vaults and internal registry whitelisting. Details in Devin sandboxing and private deployment.
  • Developer velocity and team enablement cohort: a 3-week immersive cohort for engineering teams, with an executive ROI scorecard. See the agent adoption program.
  • Migration execution: supervised agent swarms running our Databricks migration sprints against legacy repos.
  • Vendor-agnostic method: the adoption methodology works with any coding agent; Devin is where our implementation depth is.

Devin at Aloomii, answered

What is Devin AI?

Devin is an autonomous AI software engineer built by Cognition. Unlike an autocomplete assistant, it works end to end in its own environment: planning, editing multiple files, running builds and tests, and opening a pull request for review.

Is Devin secure enough for enterprise codebases?

With the right deployment, yes. Agent planning stays in the vendor cloud while all repo cloning, shell commands and builds run on your infrastructure via outbound-only connections. We add least-privilege credential vaults and internal registry whitelisting; see hardened Devin sandboxing and private VPC deployment.

How do you roll Devin out to an engineering team?

Assessment, pilot, then a 3-week enablement cohort: repository rule sets, agentic workflow playbooks and an executive ROI scorecard tracking PR cycle time and review latency. The full path is on our agent adoption program page.

Can Devin help with a Databricks migration?

Yes. We run supervised Devin swarms to convert legacy SQL and PySpark into Delta Lake pipelines governed by Unity Catalog, every change landing as a reviewed pull request. See Databricks migration services.

Hardened Agent Sandboxing & Private VPC Deployment

For organizations blocked by InfoSec, SOC 2, or data-governance mandates.

Autonomous agents cannot touch production code or proprietary data without strict isolation. We architect, deploy, and verify private, isolated worker nodes (including Devin Outposts and containerized runners) inside your secure VPC or on-premise hardware.

  • Execution inside your perimeter: agent planning stays in the vendor cloud; all repo cloning, shell commands, and builds run on your infrastructure via outbound-only connections. Nothing inbound, nothing egressing your code.
  • Least-privilege credential vaults: Zero plain-text secrets. Integrations with HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, and Databricks Unity Catalog service principals.
  • Internal registry whitelisting: Network egress controls that enforce package installations exclusively from internal artifact registries (Nexus/Artifactory).

Timeline: 2 to 3 weeks
Model: Fixed-scope deployment & security audit

Autonomous “Ticket-to-PR” CI/CD Harness

For engineering teams buried under maintenance, tech debt, and bug backlogs.

Agents fail when Jira or Linear tickets lack context, stack traces, and deterministic verification. We build the workflow middleware that enriches incoming issues, hands them off to autonomous agent swarms, and validates results against your test suites before opening a Pull Request.

  • Context-enrichment triggers: Webhook engines that automatically pull relevant schema definitions, logs, and acceptance criteria into the agent's task prompt.
  • Self-healing test loops: Runtimes that execute unit, integration, and headless browser tests (Playwright/Jest/PyTest) inside the sandbox, forcing the agent to iterate until all checks pass.
  • Human-in-the-loop review gates: Automated PR tagging, detailed diff summaries, and synthetic test proof for rapid review by your senior engineers.

Timeline: 3 to 4 weeks
Model: Pipeline build + first 5 repos

Developer Velocity & Team Enablement Cohort

For engineering orgs where 80% of staff still treat modern AI tools like basic autocomplete.

Buying seats does not equal adoption. We run a 3-week immersive enablement cohort for your software engineering teams to transform developers from manual typists into systems architects who orchestrate agents.

  • Repository rule sets: Custom .cursorrules and Devin system prompts tuned to your internal architectures, API contracts, and linting standards.
  • Agentic workflow playbooks: Practical training on context pinning, multi-file editing, and prompt debugging for staff and principal engineers.
  • Executive ROI scorecard: Quantifiable tracking of PR cycle time, deployment frequency, and review latency before and after rollout.

Timeline: 3 weeks
Model: Cohort program (up to 50 engineers)
